Can anyone explain how the stock market and investing in it?

I have read some books about the stock market and invest in it. They say it is risky and unpredictable. But many employers are still investing in it becoz they say, they produce a lot of money. I am very interested and want to know more about this and how to invest in it. how to know whether a company is worth your money or not? I do hope someone will explain this to me. thank you very much!

I think the best way to learn about the stock market is to see first what the best traders are buying and selling and why. This is the idea behind the http://www.top10traders.com site – this is a free site that lets you create a portfolio with $ 100,000 in "play" money. Every day the site is the best performing portfolios, so you can see how your choices compared to other investors. You can also read posts on investing of the best traders, as well as share their own investment ideas. There is also a charting feature, so you can see how your portfolio performed in compared with the S & P 500. Here are the best traders in this month: http://www.top10traders.com/Top10Standings.aspx You can also read "The little book that beats the market "- this book clearly explains the basics of value investing. Good luck.
