As a long time student of the ancient empires (Of the Romans in Britain are two examples), I am interested in the views of this forum. Most "experts" say that any savings will fall and rise again. They cite as depression came and went. I guess living through this fall is what makes it so scary. Normally I am optimistic, but when I see how the U.S. I'm afraid this is perhaps irreversible. From a theological point of view, many feel that this is one of the many signs we are approaching an irreversible decline, a sign of the end of time.
