What is the best real estate book for a beginner?

I'm trying to learn about real estate investment – on the purchase of housing, development of them, looking at parts of the earth .. things like that. So I was wondering what is the best book out there would read.

I have been a realtor for 31 years. I think it is possible to write a good book on that topic. Real Estate is so local and councils would have to be very specific for the type of property you want to do and the exact geographical area you want to work in addition the council would change in a couple of months due to constantly changing market and financial climate. My best advice would be to find someone who does what he wants to do and working for them for a year or so to learn from them while you work. You also have to have a large group of mentors who can call and ask questions later (even after calling people 31 years).
