Determining Your Personality Type to Get Ahead in Internet Marketing

By briangarvin On April 18, 2009 No Comments

Before you decide which way you want to go in Internet Marketing, it will probably save you a lot of time if you know up front which way you want to start your career. This will depend on your Personality Type and no one knows this better than yourself. Are you the type of person who would thoroughly enjoy just sitting at the computer all day and doing technical and writing tasks? Or would you rather always be in the middle of a crowd speaking and teaching? Or are you somewhere in the middle?

Once you answer these questions, you already have a great start to determine where your career will be heading. If you are extremely extroverted, then you might have potential to be a great leader in your niche and could eventually develop into a household name. If you can envision yourself at Marketing Seminars, teaching, being a core part of big product launches then you are an extrovert.

If this is the case you would want to study things like Camtasia, Videos, Web 2.0 and more importantly how marketing systems work from Bumper to Bumper. For example you’ll want to become intimately familiar with Continuity Marketing, One Time Offers, Upsells, Buy Bookmark or Leave one page sales letters and things like that.

On the other side of the coin if you are introverted and derive energy from yourself which a lot of people do, you can still establish a great career for yourself in Internet Marketing. If you obtain this Personality Type you would probably want to become a Full-Time Blogging Professional and spend your valuable time creating unique content. You should also seriously consider making a massive Authority Blog if this is you.

Whether your Personality Type is that of an introvert or extrovert, you still can make yourself a life changing income marketing on the Internet, but you will probably choose a different career path. I know technical geniuses that make a great amount of money building massive blogs and selling ad space on these. However these same people would probably freak out on the seminar circuit.

You’ll also notice there are common denominators and things that you should learn whether you are in introvert or extrovert. For example both should know how to construct great marketing systems and understand how they operate from front to rear. Although the extrovert may outsource this and the introvert would enjoy building one of these themselves. The extrovert may to on tour speaking a year after his system is set in place while the introvert would make 1000 posts and send people to it through their blog.

In the end there’s really no right or wrong way and it really boils down to personal preference. However the biggest mistake you can make is analysis paralysis which is over analyzing and not doing anything at all. I know from 10 years of experience in Internet Marketing that doing nothing is a definite killer so don’t fall into that trap or in a year from now you’ll be right where you are now.
