What camera is right for me?

I am interested in buying a camera, but given that I'm sixteen and have no exactly the money for the Wazoo, I can not the best of the best. I am looking for a digital camera, one that requires no batteries. I do not need anything super professional but I want something that will take considerable clean-looking images.
